It was the middle of the night on a cold winter day, snow was falling and the roads were slippery, Sorceress and Goat were working on an assignment, their victim was a 27 year old male that owed money to their boss but never paid it. “Goat, where is this guy? It's cold and I’m not seeing the target we’re after” Sorceress pouted. Goat shot her an irritated look “Stop whining! We have to do this job or the boss will be furious” Sorceress spotted the target they had been after “Hey! There he is! Wait I can just-“ She shot a bolt of magic at the man and he fell dead in the street. 

Goat sighed “Sorceress, must you always use magic?” She looked at him “What kind of Sorceress would I be if I didn’t use magic?” Goat tilted his head “Still my girlfriend who loves me?” She laughed “Yes yes, now lets-“ She turned around “Did you see that?” Goat looked around, putting a protective arm around her. “They're not heroes! We need to get out of here!” Goat turned to run, a man ran up behind Sorceress both and impaled her with a rapier. “Sorceress!” Goat was able to catch her before she fell to the ground.

“You killed our boss! You filthy good for nothing villains! You’re nothing but a plague to this world! Now die!” The man pulled his rapier from Sorceress as Goat was busy fighting off other people, he lowered the tip of the rapier to Sorceress’s throat. Sorceress looked up at him, trembling, feeling powerless. The man knelt down beside her “Well, I might as well make you more powerless than you already are.” He slid a dagger from his boot and pressed it to Sorceress’s face, pulling it down, cutting deep into her skin, blood blinded her sight as a deep wound was opened along her eye, but she felt the man yanked away, by what looks like vines. Sorceress sat up and wiped the blood from her face, as it smeared she sat a figure tying up the people that attacked them.

“Sorceress! Let’s go” Goat helped her up as she clutched her stomach wound. “Goat, is that a hero?” Vines wrapped around Sorceress’s waist, she winced and cried out in pain “G-goat! H-help me!” Goat rushed to her and cut the vines “Forgive me if this hurts you sorceress” He pulled the vines from around her as the blood seeped from her wound “G-g-goat-“ Sorceress looked up at him with tears in her eyes. “Hush now darling, You’re going to be fine” He ran into the ally as Sorceress desperately used healing spells to heal herself, Goat put her down and surveyed the ally up ahead, he disappeared around the corner. Sorceress was exhausted, she couldn't even stand, it was then that she saw the nature hero, Flower, standing over her. She attempted to stand up but she couldn't move, Flower was breathtakingly stunning, Sorceress looked Flower up and down her eyes landing on his lips. “My eyes are up here Sorceress” Flower knelt down in front of her. Sorceress was backed up against the wall clutching her side that was still bleeding.

Flower leaned closer to her, his face inches from hers “Huh, you’re kinda cute you know that?” Sorceress looked away, growing more exhausted by the minute, losing more blood than she should. Flower reached for her hand that was placed upon her wound “Let me help you” Sorceress looked at him “H-Help? W-w-why?” Her voice was barely a whisper. Flower smiled “Because, you dont look like a typical villain, you seem to have good intentions, despite your villainous tendencies, and the fact that you’re basically a hired assassin” Flower placed his hand on her wound. Sorceress winced “H-hey, b-be careful, and h-how d-do I know I c-can trust you?” Flower smiled and got closer to Sorceresses face “because I haven't turned you in yet” Goat rounded the corner and saw Flower “Hey! Stop right there!” Flower got up and ran, Goat scoffed “Some hero huh?” Sorceress stood up “H-he healed me-“ Goat shook his head “Let’s go” Sorceress sighed “Fine, but you’re gonna owe me cuddles and kisses” 

Sorceress and Goat made it back to their hideout, their boss was furious with Sorceress “How many times do I have to tell you don't use your magic! It’s too noticeable!” Slither looked at her with glaring eyes “S-sir, i-i have to use my magic it's my way of fighting.” Sorceress didn't look up, because she was afraid of Slither. Goat had gone back out for a job Slither gave him. “Listen to me Sorceress, do not use your magic” Sorceress’s face felt hot from anger “YOU MAY BE MY BOSS BUT YOU CAN'T TELL ME HOW TO FIGHT” Slither grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the wall “Are you disobeying my order, Karma? Should I remind you of what it's like to be unloved and uncared for? I have given you everything since your parents died, and you dare go against my word!?” Karma tried to get away, fear overtaking her, tears streaming down her face “This is a dangerous business Karma, don’t think this is just some game” Slither let go of her letting her hit the floor, she was gasping for air her neck red from Slither’s grip “I-I hate you Cal, how could you treat me like this? After all we’ve been through!” She got up and ran out the door leaving Cal standing there, he slumped down against the wall “What have I done?”

Karma made it to her special rooftop that she always went to, she sat on the edge, she sat in silence crying. Soon enough a hero appeared behind her. “Well now, what is a villain doing so vulnerable?” She didn't even look to see who it was, her tear stained face lit by a soft glow from the moonlight “I surrender- I won’t fight, I won’t call for help, take me in if that's what you came to do” The hero sat beside her “I didn’t come to take you in, Sorceress” Sorceress looked over and saw Flower. “F-flower? How did you find me?” Flower sighed “Don’t worry about it Ok, and please call me Eryx” Karma looked surprised “O-oh, you c-can call me K-karma” Eryx smiled “Karma…..what a pretty name” Karma’s face flushed a bright red “T-thank you!” Goat ended up coming to the rooftop after his job “Karma, you up here?” He saw Eryx and centered his attention onto him, slowly moving forward. “LUCIO! Don’t hurt him! He’s not like the others!” Lucio didn’t listen now in a full stride murderous intent in his eyes, Karma got up and rushed to him, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him down into a kiss “Don’t worry Honeybee, Eryx isn’t going to turn us in” She pressed her tear stained face into Lucio’s chest “please don’t hurt him”

Lucio sighed “Fine, I wont hurt him- Why were you crying?” Karma looked away “Brother was being…well he…” Lucio sighed “C'mon tell me” Karma shook her head “I-I cant” Eryx frowned “Your brother is Slither?” Karma turned around “How do you know that?” Eryx shook his head “If you don't mind….Karma, i can tell him what happened” Karma just nodded slightly “G-go ahead j-just please don't get upset lucio” Eryx sighed “Well, what happened was her brother, slither, got upset because she used her powers, she told him he couldn't tell her what to do and he got mad, so he grabbed her by the neck and…….and he asked her if he should remind her what its like….to be unloved and uncared for-“ Karma tried to hide the bruise on her neck from Cal’s hand, lucio sighed removing his hoot and mask “Karma let me see” She shook her head “N-no, we can't have a repeat of…of what happened” She backed away from Lucio getting closer to the edge “Let me see Karma it won’t be a repeat of what happened, I promise” Lucio reached for her “No please, please, just dont worry about it” She kept backing up toward the edge, Eryx was worried.

Karma backed up too far and slipped off the edge of the roof, Lucio lunged after her but couldn't reach her in time, Eryx jumped off the roof after Karma, creating a vine to act as a rope, he caught her but she had passed out due to fear. “Crap! Lucio! Pull us up!” Lucio pulled them both up, Eryx laid Karma down and sighed, Lucio frowned “I-is she ok?” Eryx nodded “She’s fine, just unconscious”. 

As the months went on the trio grew closer, Karma and Lucio kept doing the jobs Cal gave them, Eryx alerted them of who was on patrol and if he was on patrol he would turn a blind eye to their work. It was late at night when The Owl and The Wolf were on patrol, it was rainy outside, Karma had just had to kill someone with her bare hands, she was throwing up because of the blood. Lucio stood watch, as he spotted something out the corner of his eye he took Karma’s hand and began running “H-hey! What’s the big idea?!” Lucio kept running “Hero’s The Owl and The Wolf are out tonight remember” Karma used what little magic she could muster up and made Lucio and herself invisible. 

They ran for what seemed like an eternity until they finally made it to Eryx’s place, he was sitting on his bed reading a romance novel. Karma collapsed from fatigue as Lucio knocked on the door, the 3 of them had begun dating so they had a special knock. Eryx got up and opened the door “You look terrible” Lucio smiled “It's nice to see you too Eryx darling” Lucio had Karma in his arms, she was asleep after casting the invisibility spell. Eryx sighed “I’ve told her not to overuse her magic, does she listen? Most of the time she does but not now.” He pulled Lucio inside, closing and locking the door. He instructed Lucio to put Karma on the bed. Lucio did as he was told but ended up falling asleep right beside her. Eryx smiled, covering them both up and kissing them on the forehead, he laid on the other side of Karma and sighed “God, I love you both so much, never ever get hurt, or there’ll be problems” Eryx chuckled and then fell asleep.
